This is a story of a Californian girl…

who’s living in a Vermonter’s world!

Shalom! I’m Alyson, a Californian who’s happened to find her way to the great state of Vermont.

A native of San Jose, California all of my life, I came out to Burlington, Vermont to seek a different sort of life. At Champlain College, I major in Professional writing and have recently adopted the minor of Environmental Policy.

I have many interests outside of my education. For one, I’m an avid cat lover. My cat, Tabitha, is without a doubt one of the loves of my life.
Me and my cat, Tabitha, reunited during Winter Break 2010.

Oh yeah, and I also LOVE traveling. My grandparents live in Switzerland so I have the priviledge of visiting them every so often. Here’s a video the South of France, courtesy of Baypond, so that you can see where I go and what it looks like.

In terms of my education, I hope to be able to do something involving my passions for writing and the environment. I will be interning at Grist over the upcoming summer and I hope to someday have something published in, and work for National Geographic.

I also have some domestic travels too. Since my boyfriend lives in Portland, Oregon, I get to visit there too. This summer, I went up to Portland for the first time. Here’s a picture of me in Hood River, Oregon (again, I’m in nature).
