Caution, TOXIC!

We all know Lake Champlain is beautiful. It's on thousands of post cards and is admired by hundreds of thousands of people every single year. Here is a picture of the Lake at sunset, a picture I'm sure all of us can relate to courtesy of westportonlakechamplain.com

In my research paper, I will seek to unearth what kinds of contaminants are found in Lake Champlain. I have heard from people that there are many problems concerning toxins that have been dumped into the lake recently and I seek to further investigate the issues through scientific, hands on research. By talking to experts on the subject, I will find out just what’s under Lake Champlain’s water by doing water testing in different areas of the lake. Some of the tests that I will conduct will be the hardness of the water, the pH, nitrate levels, etc. I will also talk about the risks and implications such toxins may impose on both wildlife and human life and what can be done to amend this particular water issue.

Two audience groups that I seek to address are environmental enthusiasts as well as the public.
By addressing environmental enthusiasts and people that are passionate about the environment, I can better reach out to people of the public. Here is a picture of a passionate enthusiastic courtesy of the website, uncoverage.net.

When it is made aware to the public about the extremities of the issues at hand, more can be done to amend the problem within Lake Champlain. The enthusiasts will serve as a stepping-stone to get the ball rolling and a plan into effect as a result of findings that I will ultimately uncover.

Science is vital to how we view the world around us. I will use science to help better people's understanding of Lake Champlain and the potential toxins that are within it. What will we find? Stay tuned to find out!
